A friend of mine introduced me to BJJ back in 03 while my wife and I were visiting Japan. Intrigued by the art, I started hunting for academies almost immediately after we returned from our trip. I began my training at the Gracie Academy in Torrance. After training there for almost a year, I decided to stop to focus on our first newborn child. Another year had past by before I accidently stumbled onto the GB Lake Forest school on my way home from work. This was when I first met Professor Marcio as they were still getting things ready to open it's doors. From that moment was the beginning of my journey with Gracie Barra.
